26 x 30 Children's Science Game Show
Richard Hammond is cast as "the Willy Wonka of the science world", living in a stately home with a secret laboratory installed below the stables where he keeps his cars.
Inside, two teams of three children compete in each episode to perform scientific experiments using ordinary household objects that kids will be able to repeat at home. In one show they will make a hovercraft out of cardboard and balloons, while in another they will engineer a hot air balloon strong enough to lift a basket of fruit by leaving a black plastic bag out in the sun.
In addition, there will be an outdoor experiment in which Hammond will attempt a "jaw-dropping" stunt, such as catapulting objects from a giant slingshot.
The series is targeted at children aged eight to 12 and was ordered by CBBC controller Anne Gilchrist for transmission on BBC2 and CBBC from January.
